Throw Me the Statue

Throw Me the Statue is the primary musical vehicle for Seattle-based songwriter Scott Reitherman. Emerging in 2005, the project initially functioned as a DIY outlet for Reitherman's home recordings, eventually leading to the formation of the Baskerville Hill label.

Their sound is a quintessential example of the 2000s indie pop explosion, characterized by a blend of lo-fi aesthetics, power-pop sensibilities, and sophisticated chamber-pop arrangements. The debut album, 'Moonbeams', gained significant traction on the strength of its melodic hooks and Reitherman's breathy, intimate vocal delivery, leading to a signing with Secretly Canadian.
