Tracer AMC

Tracer AMC is a seminal Northern Irish post-rock quartet formed in Bangor in 1999. Emerging during the genre's second wave, they quickly distinguished themselves from the 'crescendo-core' tropes by incorporating a more nuanced, melodic sensibility influenced by both the math-rock precision of the Chicago scene and the atmospheric depth of UK space-rock.

Their early work caught the attention of legendary DJ John Peel, providing a critical springboard into the independent circuit. Their sound identity is defined by the dual-guitar interplay of Jonny Ashe and Michael Kinloch, which often utilizes delay and reverb to create shimmering, oceanic textures that feel grounded by Alex Donald's melodic basslines.
