Intro

Skryabin is the sound of a changing landscape, moving from the icy, electronic shadows of the early 90s into a warmer, more inclusive pop-rock embrace. The music is anchored by the unmistakable presence of Kuzma, whose voice carries a rare mix of neighborly warmth and sharp-witted observation. It feels like a conversation with a wise, slightly cynical friend who still believes in the beauty of the everyday.

What truly sets them apart is the duality between their 'Classic' and 'New' eras. The early work is a masterclass in moody, Depeche Mode-inspired synth-pop that captured the existential chill of post-Soviet life. Their later work transformed that energy into stadium-ready anthems and acoustic ballads that became the literal soundtrack to a nation's collective memory, blending humor with deep social empathy.

Start with the album 'Ptashy' for a taste of their dark, electronic roots, or dive into 'Natura' to hear the band at their most melodic and accessible. Whether you are looking for a synth-heavy trip through the 90s or a guitar-driven anthem to sing along to, Skryabin offers a profound sense of place and time.

Skryabin (Ukrainian: Скрябін, also transliterated as Scriabin or Skriabin) is a Ukrainian rock, pop band formed in 1989 in Novoiavorivsk, Ukraine. Prominent Ukrainian musician Andriy "Kuzma" Kuzmenko (Ukrainian: Андрій Кузьменко) was the band's lead singer until his death in 2015. During its existence, Skryabin has gone from synthpop to rock and pop music. As it progressed, the band's style has been divided into "classic Skryabin" and "new Skryabin". This transition took place between 2000 and 2003. The group was named "Best Pop Band" in 2006 at the "ShowBiz Awards" held in Kyiv's National Opera House.
