Штадт is the solo project of Ukrainian musician Dmytro Filiushyn, originally from Donetsk and later based in Belgrade. Emerging in the late 2010s, the project quickly became a standout in the Eastern European post-industrial scene.

The sound identity is defined by a synthesis of EBM (Electronic Body Music), darkwave, and a distinct 'wild rock energy' derived from Filiushyn's background in guitar-based music. This background manifests in the way he approaches synths: they are often overdriven, treated with the same aggression as a grunge guitar, and used to create walls of sound that border on noise. Culturally, Stadt occupies a space between the cold-war aesthetic of early industrial pioneers and the modern 'doomer' synth scene, though his work is significantly more aggressive and physically demanding than most doomer-wave. Critical consensus highlights his live performances as 'hypnotic' and 'maximalist,' often pushing the hardware to its breaking point to mirror the lyrical themes of self-hatred and psychological escape.
