Intro

Valentina represents the peak of the Italian Eurobeat explosion, a sound defined by its sheer, unadulterated velocity and crystalline digital production. It is music that refuses to sit still, characterized by hyper-active synthesizer brass stabs, driving four-on-the-floor percussion, and melodies that soar with an almost operatic intensity. The sonic palette is bright, synthetic, and unapologetically loud, creating a world where every chorus is a climax.

What makes this work distinctive is the precision of the vocal delivery against the mechanical rigidity of the sequences. Elena Ferretti's vocals are layered into shimmering walls of harmony that cut through the dense, maximalist arrangements. Unlike the softer edges of Italo disco, this era of Valentina's work is sharp and aggressive, utilizing high-speed BPMs and staccato basslines that became the blueprint for global dance subcultures from Para Para to rhythm gaming soundtracks.

To experience the essence of this sound, dive into her mid-90s output like 'Your Love' or 'Occasional Dream.' These tracks serve as a masterclass in the A.Beat-C label aesthetic, offering a rush of adrenaline that feels like a digital sunrise. It is the perfect starting point for anyone looking to understand the bridge between 80s disco and the high-energy dance music of the new millennium.

Elena Ferretti (born 1960), better known as Sophie or Rose, is an Italian Eurobeat and Italo disco singer. She has performed and recorded for many record labels, under many aliases. Her music was produced by various well-known Italian producers, namely Giacomo Maiolini, Mauro Farina, Sergio Dall'Ora and Giancarlo Pasquini. She often collaborated with Clara Moroni, who wrote many of her compositions. Moroni also did most of the backing vocals/choirs for Ferretti's songs for Time Records. Together with Moroni, she was a member of the duo Gipsy & Queen. In 2011, she recorded and released an Italian folk song entitled "Io Libera". Among her best known hits is the song "My World" (as Sophie).
