VERO

Vero is a Stockholm-based trio consisting of Julia Boman and brothers Alva and Simen Willemark. Their sound identity is characterized by a heavy 1990s alternative influence, specifically drawing from the feedback-laden textures of Sonic Youth and the melodic grunge of Garbage and Pixies.

Initially starting with a more synth-focused pop aesthetic, the band underwent a significant sonic evolution toward guitar-driven indie rock, culminating in their debut full-length 'Unsoothing Interior' released via the influential PNKSLM Recordings. This shift was marked by a commitment to raw, 'first-thought' recording techniques and an embrace of sonic imperfections. Critically, they are viewed as part of a new wave of Swedish indie that rejects the country's reputation for pristine pop production in favor of a more visceral, basement-show energy.
