VibeSquaD

VibeSquaD is the primary solo project of Aaron Holstein, a multi-instrumentalist whose background in live improvisation (notably with the band Zilla) deeply informs his electronic production. Emerging from the Boulder, Colorado music scene, VibeSquaD became a cornerstone of the 'glitch-hop' and 'West Coast Bass' movements during the late 2000s and early 2010s.

His sound identity is characterized by 'gooey' bass synthesis, heavy use of filter sweeps, and a rhythmic sensibility that bridges the gap between breakbeat and crunk. Holstein's work is often associated with the 'Glitch Mob' orbit, sharing sonic DNA with artists like Ooah and Heyoka, yet he maintains a more playful, almost cartoonish energy compared to his peers. Critically, he is respected for his technical proficiency in live sets, often incorporating live bass or keys into his performances. His career arc shows a consistent dedication to the 'bass love' philosophy, evolving from mid-tempo dub experiments to high-octane festival anthems.
