Intricate six-part vocal harmonies and warm acoustic arrangements. Venezuelan Latin pop that feels like a shared secret or a long, nostalgic embrace.
Voz Veis offers a masterclass in vocal chemistry, where six distinct voices merge into a singular, shimmering wall of sound. Their music is rooted in the romantic traditions of Latin pop but elevated by a sophisticated a cappella foundation that sets them apart from the typical boy band mold. It is music that feels hand-crafted, favoring organic textures and emotional clarity over electronic artifice.
What makes them truly distinctive is their ability to balance technical precision with genuine warmth. Whether they are performing a stripped-back acoustic set or a fully produced studio track, the focus remains on the interplay of the singers. They utilize the Maracaibo 'voseo' and local cultural touchstones to ground their universal themes of love and longing in a specific Venezuelan identity.
Start with their acoustic live album, 'Una noche común y sin corriente.' It captures the group at their most vulnerable and technically impressive, stripping away the studio sheen to reveal the raw power of their harmonized storytelling. It is the perfect entry point for anyone who appreciates the human voice as the ultimate instrument.
Voz Veis was a Venezuelan boy band that released their last studio album "Acústico... Una Noche Común y Sin Corriente" in 2010. They recorded 7 studio albums; the first, Lo Mejor Aún Está Por Venir in 1997. The group had 6 lead singers: Carlos Labrador, Luis Fernando "Luigi" Castillo, Roberto Zambrano, Gustavo González, Santiago Castillo, and Luis Enrique Leal. After obtaining a contract in 2007 with local Venezuelan newspaper Diario La Verdad to distribute 10,000 copies (the minimum amount required by the Latin Grammy organization) of their album "¿Cómo Se Llega a Belén?", the group succeeded in competing in the 2008 Latin Grammy Awards and consequently won the Best Short Form Music Video for "Ven A Mi Casa Esta Navidad", produced by the Salto Angel Media company and Best Children's Album, becoming the first Venezuelans to earn awards in these categories.
