High-energy house music built on soulful vocal chops and heavy 90s-inspired grooves. Perfect for peak-time dancefloors and sun-drenched pre-parties.
Waze & Odyssey deliver a masterclass in modern house music that feels both nostalgic and cutting-edge. Their sound is defined by a heavy, swinging rhythmic section that borrows heavily from the classic UK garage and US house playbooks. You can expect thick, saturated basslines paired with crisp drum machine percussion that demands movement. It is the kind of music that turns a living room into a club instantly.
What truly sets them apart is their surgical approach to sampling. They have a unique talent for taking familiar R&B and soul fragments and re-contextualizing them into high-octane dancefloor weapons. The vocal treatments are often rhythmic and percussive, used more as a texture than a traditional melody, which creates a hypnotic and infectious energy that never lets up.
For those new to the duo, their 2014 rework of 'Bump & Grind' is the essential entry point for its sheer chart-topping energy, while their more underground releases on W&O Street Tracks showcase their deeper, techier side. It is essential listening for anyone who misses the golden era of 90s house but wants the punch of modern production.
