Whatever It Takes

Whatever It Takes (WIT) is a Belgian hardcore band formed in 2005, emerging from the prolific 'DHM' (Die.. My Demon) crew.

The band serves as a bridge between traditional 90s hardcore and the more metallic 'beatdown' style that gained traction in the 2000s. Their sound identity is defined by high-gain, percussive guitar work, a prominent and gritty bass presence, and vocal performances that lean into the rhythmic shouting typical of the genre. While a US-based band of the same name (featuring Chris #2 of Anti-Flag) existed around the same time, the Belgian WIT is distinguished by its heavier, more aggressive sonic palette and ties to bands like Outcast and King of Clubz. M' and the 2015 follow-up 'Death Blow', showing a progression toward tighter production while maintaining a raw, street-level aesthetic. Critically, they are respected within the European hardcore underground for their consistency and their ability to translate the intensity of a live mosh pit into a studio recording. They represent a specific era of European hardcore that valued community, physical energy, and social defiance.
