Wind Rose

Wind Rose is a prominent Italian metal outfit that has carved out a unique niche known as 'Dwarven Metal.' Founded in 2009 in Pisa, the band initially explored a complex progressive metal sound influenced by Symphony X and Dream Theater, as heard on their debut Shadows over Lothadruin.

Sonically, they are characterized by Francesco Cavalieri's powerful baritone vocals, which eschew typical power metal falsetto in favor of a more grounded, 'warrior' delivery. Their arrangements frequently feature massive choral stacks and staccato, rhythmic guitar work that emphasizes 'the stomp.' They occupy a cultural space alongside 'gimmick' or 'theme' metal acts like Alestorm or Gloryhammer but maintain a high level of technical proficiency and serious world-building that appeals to both casual fans and power metal purists.
