Winterfylleth

Winterfylleth is a cornerstone of the 'English Heritage Black Metal' movement, a sub-genre they helped define alongside peers like Wodensthrone. Formed in Manchester in 2007, the band moved away from the satanic or misanthropic tropes of early Norwegian black metal, focusing instead on the history, poetry, and landscapes of Anglo-Saxon England.

Throughout their career, they have evolved from the raw, demo-like quality of 'The Ghost of Heritage' to the highly polished, expansive arrangements found on 'The Imperious Horizon.'
