WSRH, an acronym for Wyższa Szkoła Robienia Hałasu (Higher School of Making Noise), is a cornerstone of the Polish hardcore hip-hop scene. Formed in 2008 in Poznań by rappers Słoń and Shellerini, the group bridged the gap between traditional boom-bap and the emerging horrorcore subgenre in Poland.
Their sound identity is defined by high-decibel production, often handled by Mikser, which incorporates dark ambient textures, industrial noise, and heavy sampling. Słoń’s influence brought a fascination with gore, horror films, and macabre storytelling, while Shellerini provided a more grounded, street-oriented lyricism. Together, they cultivated a 'noise-making' aesthetic that prioritized sonic impact and technical flow. Their career arc peaked in the early 2010s with 'Szkoła wyrzutków', which solidified their status as underground icons. Critically, they are respected for their refusal to pivot toward radio-friendly sounds, maintaining a loyal cult following within the 'PDG' and 'Unhuman' collectives. They remain a primary influence on the darker, more aggressive wing of Polish rap.
