Intro

WWW (often referred to as WWW Neurobeat) is a cornerstone of the Czech experimental scene. Founded in 1991, they were pioneers of the local hip-hop movement, though they famously waited until 2006 to release their debut album, 'Neurobeat'.

This delay allowed their sound to ferment into something far more complex than standard rap. The project is a collaboration between musician/vocalist Ondřej Anděra (Sifon) and painter/lyricist Lubomír Typlt. Their sound identity is defined by 'industrial hip-hop' that utilizes field recordings and heavy synthesis to create a 'neurobeat' aesthetic. Culturally, they occupy a space between the graffiti underground and the high-art world of surrealist poetry. Critical consensus views them as one of the most important acts in Central European alternative music, bridging the gap between Laibach's industrial weight and the rhythmic complexity of abstract hip-hop. Their influence is pervasive in the Czech 'alternative rap' scene, setting a high bar for lyrical depth and production originality.
