Xotox, the solo project of German musician Andreas Davids, is a cornerstone of the power noise and rhythmic noise subgenres. Emerging in the late 1990s, Davids pioneered a sound he famously described as 'industrial for hyperactive people.'

His work is characterized by a high-velocity fusion of distorted techno beats, harsh industrial textures, and EBM-influenced structures. Xotox achieved significant commercial success within the alternative scene, notably becoming the first industrial act to reach the top of the German Alternative Charts (DAC) with the 2003 album 'Lichtlos.' This milestone signaled a shift in the genre, proving that rhythmic noise could maintain its abrasive integrity while finding a home on mainstream dark-electronic dancefloors. Throughout his career, Davids has maintained a prolific output, evolving from the raw experimentation of 'Stueckgut' to the more polished, high-fidelity aggression of later works like 'In den zehn Morgen.'
