Terms of Service

Provisional · Last updated June 2026

Cassette is in a small private alpha. These terms are provisional and written to be readable, not to be the final word. We will replace them with reviewed terms before opening to a wider audience. If something here is unclear, email us and we will explain it.

Cassette helps you find music worth owning and buy it from the people who made it. By creating an account, you agree to the terms below.

Who we are

Cassette is a music discovery and ownership platform. You can browse the catalog without an account. Creating an account is, for now, invite only.

The alpha

This is early software. Features will change, move, or briefly break, and we cannot promise the service will always be available. We will try not to lose your data, but during the alpha you should not treat Cassette as the only place your music or your library lives.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for what happens under your account. Accounts are for one person. If you think someone else has access to your account, change your password and tell us.

Account creation is invite only during the alpha. Invite codes are single use. Do not share them in public.

Using Cassette fairly

Keep it reasonable. In particular, do not:

  • Scrape, bulk-download, or resell the catalog or its data.
  • Break, probe, or overload the service, or try to get around its limits.
  • Use the service to break the law or to infringe someone else's rights.
  • Misrepresent who you are, including claiming an artist page that is not yours.

Buying music

When you buy music, you are buying it from the artist or from a partner store. Cassette helps you find it and, where an artist sells direct, handles the sale. The music you buy is yours to keep. We do not take it away if you stop using Cassette.

Artists

If you make music, you can claim your artist page, correct your details, and sell on your terms. You keep the rights to your work. You give us permission to display it on Cassette so people can find and buy it.

Changes and ending your account

We may change or suspend parts of the service, especially during the alpha. You can stop using Cassette at any time. To delete your account, email support@cassette.digital and we will remove it.

We may suspend an account that abuses the service or these terms. If we ever shut the service down, we will give you reasonable notice and a way to take your data with you.

The basics

Cassette is provided as is during the alpha. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or incidental losses. None of this is meant to take away rights you have under the law where you live.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we handle it. The short version: we collect as little as we can, and we do not sell your data.
