Released in 2022, Anywhere From Here serves as the 'Side A' to Seafret's third studio album, marking a significant evolution in their sound. While the duo of Jack Sedman and Harry Draper built their reputation on stripped-back, maritime-influenced indie folk, this EP introduces a more 'intimate yet expansive' production style. Collaborating with producer Cam Blackwood, the duo incorporated richer instrumentation, including more prominent piano and layered vocal arrangements. The lyrical focus shifted significantly toward themes of family and the passage of time, largely inspired by Sedman's experience of impending fatherhood. This shift from the 'lonely beach' aesthetic to a 'domestic garden' warmth characterizes the EP's sonic identity. Critics noted the newfound maturity in Sedman's songwriting, particularly on the track 'Pictures,' which serves as the emotional anchor of the release.
