Chimera EP

Released in 2017, Chimera EP represents a distillation of Ash Koosha's 'synesthetic' approach to electronic music. Following the critical success of his full-length 'I AKA I', this EP moves away from the more overt pop-adjacent melodies toward a more abstract, sculptural form of IDM. The seven tracks are titled numerically, suggesting a unified suite or a series of iterations on a single sonic theme. Koosha utilizes advanced granular synthesis and physical modeling to create sounds that mimic real-world physics - gravity, friction, and fluid dynamics - within a purely digital environment. The EP was released during a period when Koosha was heavily involved in VR development, and that spatial awareness is evident in the mix's extreme depth and width. Critically, it was viewed as a bridge between his more accessible work and his later, even more experimental 'human-AI' collaborations.
