Disarm the Descent

Disarm the Descent marks the pivotal return of original vocalist Jesse Leach to Killswitch Engage, following the departure of Howard Jones. Produced by guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz and mixed by the legendary Andy Sneap, the album deliberately pushes the band into faster, more aggressive territory than its 2009 self-titled predecessor. Drummer Justin Foley incorporates blast beats - a rarity in the band's previous catalog - while the songwriting leans heavily into the melodic death metal influences of the Swedish Gothenburg scene. The album was a critical and commercial success, debuting at #7 on the Billboard 200 and earning a Grammy nomination for the lead single 'In Due Time.'
