Harmony Corruption

Released in 1990, Harmony Corruption is the third studio album by Napalm Death and represents a significant stylistic shift. Recorded at Morrisound Recording in Tampa, Florida, under the guidance of producer Scott Burns, the album adopted the 'Florida sound' that was then defining the death metal genre. This was the first album to feature the classic lineup including vocalist Barney Greenway and guitarists Mitch Harris and Jesse Pintado. While some purists initially bristled at the move away from the micro-song structures of 'Scum' and 'From Enslavement to Obliteration', the album's impact on the global extreme metal scene was profound. It introduced a higher level of technicality and production value to the band's repertoire, effectively bridging the gap between grindcore and death metal. The inclusion of guest vocals from Glen Benton and John Tardy further cemented its status within the death metal elite.
