Released in 2020, Hindsight represents the second full-length outing for the 'rebooted' Emmure lineup featuring members of Glass Cloud and The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza. This technical pedigree is evident in the surgical precision of the performances, even as the songwriting remains focused on the band's trademark simplicity and rhythmic 'bounce.' Produced by WZRD BLD (Drew Fulk), the album features a hyper-modern, compressed sound that emphasizes the percussive nature of the low-tuned seven and eight-string guitars. Clocking in at just over 30 minutes across 13 tracks, the album is notable for its brevity and lack of filler, with several tracks functioning as short, sharp shocks to the system. It successfully bridges the gap between the nu-metal revivalism of the late 2010s and the increasingly technical standards of the modern metalcore scene, solidifying Emmure's role as the primary architects of 'moshcore.'
