Released in 2002, Instant Vintage serves as the definitive solo debut for Raphael Saadiq following his success with Tony! Toni! Toné! and the supergroup Lucy Pearl. Recorded over seven months, the sessions were characterized by an organic, improvisational spirit, featuring contributions from neo-soul royalty like Angie Stone and D'Angelo.
