Maxinquaye

Released in 1995, Maxinquaye is the debut studio album by British musician Tricky, named after his late mother. It is widely considered one of the foundational pillars of the trip-hop genre, though Tricky himself famously resisted the label. The album was recorded primarily in London and features the debut of Martina Topley-Bird, whose vocals provide the melodic counterpoint to Tricky's gritty, whispered delivery.
