Released in 2004, Re•de•fine serves as the final SOiL album to feature original vocalist Ryan McCombs before his departure to Drowning Pool. Following the massive success of their 2001 album Scars, this record refined their 'blues-metal' aesthetic, moving slightly away from the raw nu-metal associations of their debut toward a more polished, hard-rock-oriented sound.
