Rose

Released in 2014, Rose is the first in a series of EPs by The Front Bottoms named after their grandmothers, featuring re-recorded versions of songs from their early, self-released catalog. While the original versions of these tracks circulated as lo-fi rarities, Rose brings them into a professional studio environment without sacrificing the band's signature 'folk punk' grit. The EP serves as a bridge between their DIY roots and their more expansive later work. Sonically, it is characterized by aggressive acoustic guitar work, percussive drumming, and the inclusion of brass instruments which would become a staple of their live sound.
