While his work often leans toward the 'active' side of New Age with driving rhythms and world-music flourishes, this record is strictly minimalist ambient. Inspired by the stark landscapes of Iceland (referenced in the opening track 'Jökulsárlón'), the album utilizes a palette of solo piano, subtle synth pads, and occasional woodwinds to create a sense of immense physical space.
