Swingin' Stampede is the 1998 debut album from Hot Club of Cowtown, a trio that became the definitive modern torchbearers for western swing. Consisting of Elana James (fiddle), Whit Smith (guitar), and Jake Erwin (bass), the group utilized this debut to establish their signature 'drumless' sound, relying entirely on Erwin's percussive upright bass for rhythm.
