Temples of Ice

Released in 1991, Temples of Ice is the second of three albums featuring the 'Prime Evil' lineup, consisting of Tony 'Demolition Man' Dolan on vocals and bass, alongside original members Mantas and Abaddon. This era of the band is characterized by a significant shift in production values and technicality. Moving away from the 'Black Metal' aesthetic, the album embraces a high-fidelity thrash metal sound that was prevalent in the early 90s. The recording features more sophisticated song structures, as evidenced by the title track, and even touches on personal themes, such as the tribute track 'In Memory Of.' While it lacked the cultural shock value of their early 80s work, it earned respect for its professional execution and Mantas's refined guitar work.
