Released in August 2006, Unappreciated served as the commercial breakthrough for the King sisters, collectively known as Cherish. Following a shelved debut project years earlier, this album successfully integrated the group into the dominant Atlanta R&B scene of the mid-2000s. Co-produced by Jermaine Dupri and the group themselves, the record is a masterclass in the 'snap' R&B subgenre, characterized by minimalist percussion, heavy bass, and rhythmic vocal delivery.
