Released in April 2020, Voodoo Sonic (The Trilogy, Pt. 2) represents the middle chapter of Parov Stelar's ambitious three-part series. While Stelar is widely credited as the pioneer of electro-swing, this EP demonstrates a maturation of the sound, moving away from the novelty of the genre toward a more cohesive 'Voodoo Sonic' aesthetic that incorporates elements of blues, soul, and deep house. The centerpiece of the release is 'Piano Boy,' a seven-minute track that showcases Stelar's ability to build tension through repetitive piano motifs and evolving percussion, marking one of his most progressive arrangements to date. 'Brass Devil' serves as the high-energy anchor, utilizing aggressive horn stabs that have become a staple of his live performances.
