Youthanasia

Released in 1994, Youthanasia is Megadeth's sixth studio album and a definitive pivot toward a more melodic, structured songwriting approach. Following the massive success of Countdown to Extinction, the band - featuring the 'classic' lineup of Mustaine, Friedman, Ellefson, and Menza - opted for a slower, more deliberate tempo across the board. Recorded in Phoenix, Arizona, in a studio built specifically for the sessions, the album is notable for its high production values and the band's decision to record 'live' in the studio to capture a more cohesive energy.
