Zombielicious

Released in 2009 on UKW Records, Zombielicious represents a pivotal moment for Florian Senfter (Zombie Nation), moving away from the shadow of his massive hit 'Kernkraft 400' toward a more idiosyncratic, hardware-centric sound. The album is notable for its rejection of the 'grid' - many tracks feature instruments played by hand and looped without time quantization, resulting in a 'wobbly' or 'drunken' rhythmic feel that distinguishes it from the minimal techno prevalent at the time. Recording took place in Munich, with Senfter utilizing a vast array of analog gear, including MPCs and spring reverbs, to achieve a 60s-influenced surf-techno hybrid on tracks like 'Mas de Todo.' The album features collaborations with My Robot Friend and Tobias Weber, adding vocal and organic instrumental layers (Rhodes, violins) that lean toward a 'hippie band' aesthetic within a techno framework.
