Airiel, led by Jeremy Wrenn, is a cornerstone of the American 'nugaze' movement that emerged in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Based in Chicago, the band bridged the gap between the classic UK shoegaze of the early 90s (Slowdive, Ride) and a more modern, polished indie-rock aesthetic.
