Alexandria

Alexandria is a Florida-based gothic metal ensemble that emerged in 2006, part of a global wave of female-fronted symphonic metal acts. Founded by drummer Erick Castrillon and vocalist Allie Zangari, the band quickly established a reputation for blending operatic vocal techniques with traditional heavy metal structures.

Their sound identity is defined by high-register soprano vocals, melodic guitar harmonies, and a penchant for dramatic, often mythological or existential lyrical themes. Throughout their career, they have shared stages with genre giants like Kamelot and Sonata Arctica, signaling their alignment with the power-prog and symphonic metal scenes. Despite several lineup changes in the vocal department, including tenures by Sarah Teets and Rayna Tamarin, the band maintained a consistent aesthetic of 'melodic heaviness.'
