Intro

Alicja Majewska offers a masterclass in the 'estrada' style of Polish music, where the boundary between pop and theater dissolves. Her sound is defined by a rich, soaring soprano that carries immense emotional weight without ever feeling forced. It is music that feels expensive and timeless, rooted in the grand tradition of European song festivals and sophisticated cabaret.

What truly sets her apart is the long-standing collaboration with composer Włodzimierz Korcz. His intricate, piano-driven arrangements provide a dramatic architecture for Majewska’s storytelling. The songs often start with intimate, delicate verses before swelling into massive, orchestral climaxes that demand your full attention. It is the sound of high-culture pop, where every lyrical syllable is treated with reverence.

For those new to her catalog, the best entry point is her classic hits from the late 70s and 80s. These tracks capture the peak of the Polish song-writing tradition, blending poetic depth with melodies that stick in your mind long after the record stops spinning. It is perfect for listeners who appreciate the vocal power of Celine Dion but crave the artistic restraint of 20th-century European chanson.
