Amentia

Amentia is a cornerstone of the Belarusian technical brutal death metal scene, emerging from Minsk in 2003. Founded by Alex (bass/vocals) and Victor (drums), the project survived numerous lineup shifts to become a formidable force in the CIS metal underground.

Their sound identity is characterized by extreme rhythmic density, drawing from the 'brutal' school of death metal while incorporating the surgical precision of technical death metal. Their evolution saw them move from a studio-centric project to a fully realized live act, with their 2007 debut 'Burn to Hate' establishing their reputation for uncompromising speed. Critically, they are recognized for maintaining a high level of technicality without sacrificing the raw, visceral energy of the genre. They occupy a similar cultural space to peers like Posthumous Blasphemer, representing a specific niche of high-velocity, complex metal that prioritizes mechanical precision and sonic endurance.
