Analog Pussy is a pivotal project in the global psychedelic trance scene, formed in 1997 by Jiga and Jinno in Israel before relocating to Berlin. Their sound identity is a unique fusion of high-speed PsyTrance (Goa-influenced) and a DIY punk ethos, often referred to as 'Trance N Roll.'
This crossover is rooted in Jiga's background as a metal bassist, which informs the aggressive, driving low-end and rebellious attitude of their compositions. Moving to Berlin in 2000 and establishing AP Records allowed them to maintain total creative independence, a move that mirrored the decentralized, internet-driven growth of the early 2000s electronic scene. Their work is characterized by high BPMs, industrial textures, and a maximalist approach to synth layering. Critically, they are recognized for bringing a harder, more confrontational edge to a genre often associated with hippie-adjacent aesthetics. Their influence is felt in the 'Full On' and 'Darkpsy' subgenres, bridging the gap between melodic Goa and the more aggressive, mechanical styles of modern trance.
