Angel Dust

Angel Dust is a seminal German metal entity that underwent one of the most successful stylistic pivots in the genre's history. Founded in Dortmund in 1984, they were initially key players in the European speed and thrash metal explosion, releasing cult classics like 'Into the Dark Past'.

After a hiatus in the early 90s, the band reformed in 1998 with a radically different approach, moving into a dark, progressive power metal territory. This second era, led by the Banx brothers and vocalist Dirk Thurisch, defined their legacy with a series of high-impact albums on Century Media. Their sound identity is characterized by the juxtaposition of thrash-influenced riffing with sophisticated keyboard arrangements and emotive, mid-range vocals.
