Au Revoir Simone

Au Revoir Simone emerged from the mid-2000s Brooklyn indie scene as a unique all-female trio dedicated to an all-keyboard format. Formed by Erika Forster, Annie Hart, and Heather D'Angelo, the group bypassed the garage rock revival of their peers in favor of a delicate, synth-driven sound that bridged the gap between indie pop and electronic minimalism.

Their early work, particularly 'Verses of Comfort, Assurance & Salvation', established a 'twee' electronic aesthetic characterized by Casio-style beats and earnest, soft-spoken vocals. The band gained significant cultural cachet through their association with filmmaker David Lynch, who became a vocal fan and collaborator, leading to their iconic appearance in the 2017 revival of Twin Peaks.
