BRS

British Rhythm Services (BRS), consisting of Ben Vacara, Rob Evans, and Mr Mulatto, emerged in 1998 as key figures in the UK's deep house and downtempo scene. Their sound identity is defined by a fusion of traditional house structures with jazz-funk sensibilities, often characterized by the use of Rhodes pianos, syncopated percussion, and a 'warm' sonic palette associated with the Cyclo and Imperial Dub labels.

Throughout the early 2000s, they were central to the 'lounge' movement, providing a sophisticated alternative to the more aggressive tech-house of the era.
