Buffalo Killers emerged from the ashes of the garage-rock outfit Thee Shams in 2006, shifting toward a more structured, heavy psychedelic-blues sound. Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, the trio - consisting of brothers Zachary and Andrew Gabbard alongside Joseph Sebaali - quickly became a critical darling of the 'new-vintage' rock movement.
Their sound identity is defined by a 'power trio' configuration that emphasizes thick, fuzzed-out basslines, heavy drumming, and dual-vocal harmonies reminiscent of the Grateful Dead or Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, but filtered through a Blue Cheer-esque heaviness.
