Centinex

Centinex is a foundational entity in the second wave of Swedish death metal, formed in 1990 in Avesta. Their sound identity is inextricably linked to the 'Stockholm sound' popularized by Sunlight Studios, though they often incorporated more melodic and thrash-oriented elements than contemporaries like Dismember or Entombed.

Throughout their career, they have navigated several line-up changes and a significant hiatus between 2006 and 2014, with members notably spinning off into the band Demonical. Their discography reflects an evolution from raw, primitive death metal in the early 90s to a more polished, groove-heavy approach in the 2000s and beyond. Critically, they are respected as 'workhorse' veterans who maintained the genre's standards during periods of commercial decline.
