Firespawn

Firespawn is a prominent Swedish death metal supergroup formed in 2012, originally under the name Fireborn. , Necrophobic, and Unleashed.

Their sound is a bridge between the classic 'Sunlight Studio' era of Swedish death metal and the more technical, high-speed approach of the 21st century. The band's history is deeply intertwined with the legacy of the late Lars-Göran Petrov, whose iconic vocals defined their first three albums. Following his passing in 2021, the band's 2025 reformation with Jörgen Sandström (Grave, Entombed) solidified their status as the torchbearers of the Stockholm lineage. Critically, they are praised for maintaining the groove of traditional Swedish death metal while incorporating the blast-beat intensity of US death metal and the blackened melodicism of the Swedish underground.
