Chaoseum

Chaoseum is a Swiss metal band formed in 2018 by former members of the symphonic metal act Elferya. Despite their symphonic roots, the band pivoted sharply toward a sound they describe as 'Nu-Metalcore.'

Their identity is heavily tied to a theatrical horror aesthetic, characterized by clown-inspired makeup and high-energy stage performances. The band underwent a significant shift early in their career when vocalist CK Smile replaced Lola van Lo, a move that solidified their transition from a more traditional metal sound to the manic, multi-vocal style they are known for today. Musically, they utilize 7-string guitars and modern production techniques to create a dense, compressed wall of sound. They have gained significant international traction through strategic touring with heavyweights like Soulfly and Tarja Turunen, as well as a strong visual presence on digital platforms. Critically, they are viewed as leaders in the 'Nu-Metal Revival' movement, successfully modernizing the genre's tropes for a Gen Z and Millennial audience that values both technical proficiency and extreme theatricality.
