Cryo is the creative vehicle for Swedish musician Martin Rudefelt, established in 2002 in Malmö. The project is a cornerstone of the modern EBM (Electronic Body Music) and Futurepop landscape, specifically associated with the influential Progress Productions label.
Sound-wise, Cryo is defined by a 'hard-wired' aesthetic: high-production-value digital synthesis, heavy emphasis on sub-bass frequencies, and a rhythmic rigidity that borders on the architectural.
