Kant Kino

Kant Kino is a Norwegian electronic duo consisting of Lars and Kenneth, established in 2008. They emerged from the underground EBM and industrial scenes of Oslo, quickly gaining traction by signing to the prominent Alfa Matrix label. Their sound identity is a deliberate fusion of 'Old School' EBM (Electronic Body Music) and the more aggressive, distorted 'Dark Electro' style that dominated the 1990s. This results in a sonic profile characterized by 16-step sequencer basslines, heavy use of the Roland TB-303 and similar hardware emulations, and vocals processed through bit-crushers and distortion pedals.

Critically, they are noted for their high production values, avoiding the 'muddy' sound often associated with bedroom industrial projects in favor of a punchy, club-optimized mix. Their career arc has seen them transition from pure genre revivalists to a more conceptual act, exploring themes of industrialization, German pop culture, and existential dread. They occupy a central position in the modern European industrial scene, frequently appearing at festivals like Wave-Gotik-Treffen and Amphi.
