Dash Rip Rock

High-octane Louisiana roots rock that slams country twang into punk rock energy. It is raucous, irreverent, and built for the loudest dive bar in town.

Intro

Dash Rip Rock sounds like a high-speed collision between a vintage Nashville telecaster and a 1977 London punk club. Their music is defined by a relentless, driving rhythm section and Bill Davis's signature guitar work, which manages to be both technically precise and gloriously messy. It is the sound of the South with all the polite edges sanded off by years of touring and cheap beer.

What truly sets them apart is their fearless commitment to irreverence. While many roots-rock bands take themselves with somber seriousness, Dash Rip Rock leans into satire, whimsy, and raw insolence. They can pivot from a blistering rockabilly workout to a hilarious parody without losing an ounce of their musical credibility, maintaining a tight power-trio chemistry that few bands can match.

Start with 'Boiled Alive!' to capture their legendary live energy, or dive into 'Hits and Giggles' for a crash course in their satirical songwriting. It is the perfect soundtrack for anyone who likes their country music with a side of distortion and a middle finger pointed at the establishment.

Dash Rip Rock is an American rock band. The band is best known for its cowpunk sound, which mixes punk rock, rockabilly, hard rock, country and boogie. The New York Times stated that Dash Rip Rock combines “fluency in American roots music with a robust dose of punk-rock spirit.” Dash Rip Rock has toured consistently for decades. Bill Davis, Dash Rip Rock's founder and frontman, is a songwriter known for his blistering guitar work. Spin praised Dash Rip Rock as “undeniably the South’s greatest rock band.” In 2012, Dash Rip Rock was inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame. "Their roots sound's supercharged with energy and an overdose of irreverence, delivered with crunchy swagger," Creative Loafing wrote.
