This duality reached its zenith on the 2000 masterpiece 'White Pony,' which incorporated trip-hop, glitch, and shoegaze elements, effectively distancing the band from the 'nu-metal' label they had outgrown. Following the tragic loss of founding bassist Chi Cheng, the band entered a second creative prime with 'Diamond Eyes' and 'Koi No Yokan,' refining their blend of 'art-metal' with high-fidelity production.
