Aggressive industrial pulses meet staccato vocal delivery. High-octane metal with a mechanical heart, perfect for high-intensity training or late-night drives.
Device was a short-lived but impactful industrial metal project formed in 2012 by Disturbed vocalist David Draiman and former Filter guitarist Geno Lenardo. The project emerged during a hiatus for Disturbed, allowing Draiman to explore a more electronic and texture-heavy sound inspired by 90s industrial pioneers like Nine Inch Nails and Ministry, while maintaining the anthemic sensibilities of modern hard rock.
Their sole self-titled album featured an impressive roster of guest collaborators including Trent Reznor, Tom Morello, and Serj Tankian, signaling its high standing within the metal community. Critically, the project was noted for its polished production and the successful translation of Draiman's unique vocal style into a more mechanical context. Though Draiman effectively shuttered the project in 2015 to return to Disturbed, Device remains a key artifact of early 2010s industrial-alternative crossover, bridging the gap between mainstream nu-metal and underground electronic textures.
