Digital Leather

Digital Leather is the primary creative vehicle for Shawn Foree, a prolific multi-instrumentalist who emerged from the Arizona underground in the early 2000s. The project is a cornerstone of the modern synth-punk revival, bridging the gap between the raw, confrontational electronics of The Screamers and the lo-fi garage rock sensibilities of the Goner Records scene.

Foree's work is characterized by a heavy reliance on vintage analog synthesizers and primitive drum machines, creating a sound that is intentionally brittle and abrasive. Throughout his career, Foree has moved from the hyper-minimalist 'one-man-band' setup to more collaborative efforts involving members of the garage-punk elite, such as Jay Reatard and the Destruction Unit collective.
